Firstly I should point out that my photography skills do not do this bike justice but you are very welcome to come and view it prior to bidding.
This is a Full carbon monocoque frame Boardman AirPro C on a 54cm frame. I have taken this out on a test ride (I am 5’7″) and it was just perfect for me although I would suggest that anyone shorter than me might be better with the next size down (if you are 5’7″/5’8″ I would certainly encourage a test ride before bidding). I would suggest this bike is realistically suitable for someone between 5’7″ and 6’0″ obviously depending on your personal preference and riding style. Very happy to entertain any viewings before bidding and will happily assist in sizing the bike for the winning bidder or during a viewing. (Yes I can size a bike correctly even with 2 metres social distancing)
I have sold 3 x Cervelo S series bikes this year (I also have 1 in stock at the moment) and this bike very much reminds me of riding those, possibly because of the teardrop shaped down tube but also that it feels a very similar ride. Very quick acceleration, and once up to speed just seems to roll on with little additional effort. The gear changes are smooth (it is a Shimano Ultegra groupset so I would expect nothing less) and overall this is a very impressive bike. Gear changes on the bike are amazingly quick and crisp, the Ultegra groupset on the bike (pics 3,4 and 8) is a superb groupset aimed at a top end of the market.
To put that into perspective the cheapest bike I could find on Evans cycles with an Ultegra groupset was 2400 (Cannondale CAAD 13). This really is a high end groupset on this ‘used’ bike
The bike comes with 20 gears in total, powered through a FSA branded crankset (pic 3), with such a wide range that the lower gear ranges will get you up the steepest of mountain passes before changing up the highest range of gears to propel you down the other side.
Everything on this bike is in superb condition, although the bike is used and does have some of the usual marks and scratches you will see on any used bike. I have included high resolution pics (pics 7 and 11 are as close as I could focus) so you can judge the quality of this bike for yourself before bidding or, as previously mentioned, any viewing before bidding is most welcome if not highly recommended.
This is not a bike that has been pulled out of the garage after many years, given a polish and chucked on eBay, this is a bike that has been fully serviced with any necessary parts replaced and is ready for many years of enjoyment for its new owner. I think (pics 7 and 11) gives a good indication of how clean and tidy this bike is and the first two pictures show how it looks from 2 metres (the closest anyone is allowed to get to you).
Unlike many bikes this also has the same Ultegra brakes front and rear (pics 9 and 10), so this is not a bike where the manufacturer looked to scrimp on some of the components. Even the Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels which seem close to new (pic 6) are a higher end wheelset than found on many bikes at this price, and are both fitted with Continental Gatorskin Tyres with very visible wear indicator marks showing that the tyres have very few miles ridden on them and I would suggest are good for quite a few thousand more miles before needing replacing.

Boardman Road Pro Carbon
Helped by their high street distribution via Halfords in the UK, Boardman Bikes have made quite a name for themselves in just a few years. Theyre not standing still in 2011. This year theyre sponsoring a professional road team, are looking to move into international markets and have introduced some new bikes, including this, their first aero road bike.
Typically for a Boardman bike, the price is exceptionally competitive, your 1,800 landing you a carbon fibre frame, tapered carbon fork and oversized aero seatpost as well as a higher spec than most similarly priced bikes. Shimano Ultegra kit takes care of shifting and braking, and theres a decent set of Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels.
Maximum aerodynamic efficiency is achieved using a flattened Cervlo-like down tube, carbon aero seatpost and deep aero fork, along with intricately routed internal cabling. And though weight isnt the most crucial element in producing an aerodynamic road bike, the higher-end kit has enabled Boardman to keep the weight down to a very impressive 7.73kg.
While we havent tested the Road Pro in the wind tunnel yet, our Bike Of The Year testers perceptions are that this is a serious speed machine that absolutely flies when you put your foot down. This isnt a bike for tootling along but one for making the most of your all-out efforts, and there are few concessions to anything other than speed in the bikes make-up.
The huge BB30 bottom bracket cluster and FSAs stiff, hollow-forged Energy cranks combine to good effect, making sure little of your energy is wasted, while the deep-section down tube keeps the bike feeling remarkably rigid. One racing tester felt the handling was composed and predictable, creating a stable platform from which to accelerate. Helped by the racy Ksyrium Equipes, the Boardman picks up speed quickly, and the slippery frame helps to maintain it.
In addition to the wheels, the rest of the kit is well thought out too. Theres a good quality Boardman bar and stem, and Fiziks Arione saddle proved popular. Boardman have obviously done their homework before entering the world of aero road bikes, and the Pro Air deserves serious attention. Great frameset, good wheels, light weight, superb acceleration.
