Marin Attack Trail 17.5 (Medium) Full Suspension Mountain BikeA high end full suspension bike with excellent build quality & even higher end upgraded parts & fully adjustable quick release Quad Tara frame technology, which I believe allows the rider to adjust travel from 4″ to 6″.I believe it to be the 2007 model and to be the last model designed and developed by John Whyte prior to him leaving Marin to set up his own company, and is a highly regarded piece of kit.Comes with original owners manual & owners manual for Fox Float RP23rear shock.Has an anodised blue Chris King headset, Hope mono M4 brakes with anodised blue piston caps & Goodridge braided hoses & blue hope 180mm front rotor / rear hope rotor, and comes with the following spec / parts fitted:- Shimano XTR front mech Shimano XTR Rear QR skewer Shimano XT rear mech Shimano XT hollowtech cranks with Middleburn inner rings Shimano XT shifters Shimano XT rear 9 speed cassette Shimano XT rear hub Halo tornado 26 rims with DT Swiss spokes Hope pro 2 front hub Hope mono M4 4 pot brakes with Goodridge braided hoses (in very good order both cosmetically and mechanically), withanodised blue piston caps Hope 180mm anodised blue floating front rotor. Hope 160mm rear rotor. Chris King annodised blue headset WTB Wier wolf 26 tyres (treads are a bit dirty in the photos, but they are in very good order) Rockshox Revalation front forks with remote lock out Fox Float RP23 rear shock with pro pedal Answer pro taper bars & FSA stem FSA Seat post & WTB saddle Yeti ODI grips Shimano cleated flat pedals Marin owners manual, Fox rear shock manual and shock pumpEverything works as it should, brakes are sharp having recently been bled, gears run smooth, wheels run true, front & rear suspension are both plush & hold air, there are no dents, cracks, or significant wear to the frame, just the usual cable rub here and there and the wear to the Marin logos etc…I purchased the bike second hand from the original owner, with the intention of using the Hope brakes, Chris King headset and Rockshox forks on another build (as they are all in excellent order as shown in the photos and would be worth 300+ on there own), but have decided that it’s too good to part out and am going to sell it on as it is, as I’m more into retro 90’s bikes and won’t give this one the use it deserves.Originally cost around 2,500+ new, has been well maintained throughout & should represent an excellent cost effective purchase for someone who wants a high end full suspension bike, but without the high end price tag of buying new.I couldn’t find a size label on the frame, so have measured the frame from middle of BB, and it measures as follows:-16″ to the top of the cross bar (the bottom line of the triangular shaped bit below the seat clamp)17.5″ to the top left corner of the triangular shaped bit below the seat clamp19″ to top of seat clampThe seat is currently set up quite high, as are the handlebars at the front, but as you will see from the photos there are plenty of spacers, so is lots of room for adjustment (especially with the adjustable Quad Tara frame) to suit the riders preferences. On the whole, the bike and components are in very good order, all be it with some areas of the printed Marin logos and frame spec details showing a bit of cosmetic wear as you’ll see in the photos & there being the inevitable bit of cable rub here and there, but again, nothing major. However, please be aware of the following points (the majority of which I have highlighted in the photos:-Cosmetic wear to the edges of the rims (from being stored loose in the back of the original owners camper van while transporting to and from the trails). As you will see in the final photo – the XT crank arms aren’t in the best of shape cosmetically, but they work spot on and do their job perfectly well.Rear outer gear cable worn through to metal inner -near the first clip underneath the down tube (gears still work fine as is, but may need replacing at some point in the future). As you will see from the depth I have gone into in my description, I just want a simple hassle free sale and couldn’t really be much more honest in making buyers fully aware of the bikes good and bad points, and genuinely hope it goes to someone who will use it and appreciate it for what it is.Collection is from Stathern (LE14 4HS, near Melton Mowbray), or I may be able deliver on Sunday (the day after auction end) to Nottingham, Grantham, Derby or Leicester (or maybe slightly farther afield for 50p a mile to cover petrol) – just drop me a line with your location & well work something out.Have had to re-list the bike once as the last winning bidder pulled out after purchasing the bike (he was a 6hr round trip away), so please, please, please – only bid if you intend to collect and pay for the bike, otherwise I will be parting it out as I intended to, which would be a real shame.
