Vintage Custom Fixed Gear Fixie Raleigh 531.
I put his hand together several years ago when I lived in London and I absolutely loved it when it was finished. I used it very recreationally for a few months then moved to Kent. Since its hilly here and lifestyle changes this just doesnt get the use hat it should and I have stored it in a warm/dry garage ever since. It looks and rides great but also now want a mountain bike and I sadly cant justify keeping this. Some parts I have original too keep with the vintage look but I have also bought brand new parts to improve the ride as listed below.
– It is a Raleigh 531 frame which I got professionally powder coated in what is probably a satin black- both wheel rims were bought new from brick lane bikes. Made by H plus son- two large flanges bought from the old bicycle company- both wheels I got professionally trued for nice straight wheels- vintage look tyres by Panasonic pasela tour guard 700 x 23c, again purchased from brick lane bikes- Original vintage AVA stem- vintage 3ttt competizione handlebare- Vintage campagnolo brake lever c record delta – two dia-compe brakes- MKS pedals- Brooks champion special B17 saddle . Purchased new.
I am 5ft 10 and fits me perfectly. The top bar measurement is 22.5 inches From seat post to centre of crank is 21.5 inches
A fantastic bike that really looks the part and rides well. Since built I have probably cycled no more than 20 miles. Great condition, 1 or 2 hardly noticeable scratches. Im sure one day I will regret selling but its a shame just to keep things in storage and not enjoyed.
