I’m selling my Vitus Rapide CRX XC mountain bike. Carbon frame, SRAM Eagle 1×12 in gold/black (Midnight Sand, according to Vitus), size Large. I’m 5’11” and it fits me perfectly.

The bike looks amazing. This is the 2020 model, which apart from being in an awesome colour (!) also has the Fox Factory Kashima-coated 100mm StepCast forks with remote lockout. Hard to explain how good these forks are.

Full spec details on the Vitus site – https://vitusbikes.com/products/rapide-crx-bike-gx-eagle-1×12 – but copied at the bottom if you cba to click. Spec is completely standard with the exception of a black RRP front mudguard. Pedals not included.

It is super-light – just under 10kg. It climbs better than any bike I’ve ridden .Seems to find grip everywhere and the carbon frame (and fork lockout) means that every watt you put in is transferred to the ground.

I bought this at the start of lockdown as a replacement for my old MTB and have ridden it a couple of times a week on local trails for the last 8 or so months. As soon as I got the bike I heli-taped the underside of the downtube, the back of the seat tube and the inside of the seat & chainstays to protect it from stonechips. I’ve also added some anti-wear patches to the side of the frame head-tube to prevent the cables rubbing on the paintwork and loosely ziptied the front cables together so they don’t bounce around as much offroad.
Rims, grips, saddle etc all in great condition. Loads of life left in the pads. The tyres on it are brand new – I did one ride on them in the dry before switching them for heavier weight Maxxis tyres which I prefer.

The bike has been washed and oiled immediately after every ride and kept in a warm dry garage. Every week I’ve removed, cleaned and relubed the chain. I’ve also removed, cleaned and lubed the jockey wheels in the drive train and cleaned all the crud out of the cassette 2-3 times.

The bike is in really, really good condition – it is used, so it’s not showroom-perfect. I have been really picky and highlighted any scrapes below so you know the condition it’s in. Any marks are cosmetic – the frame, forks, seat etc are all in perfect working condition.

Bits to note (see pictures for all of these):

– couple of small chips on the RHS downtube on the V inVitus
– one small scrape on the RHS downtube above the S in Vitus
– small scrape on the LHS fork leg sticker
– small scrape in the rear seat-stay arch
– small notch out of the LHS plastic crank protector
– couple of bits of the top-tube slogan and the E of Rapide flaking away
– tiny stone chip on the RHS top tube

I have been absolutely scrupulous finding these – overall the bike is in great condition and I’ll be gutted to see it go. Only selling as I’m about to get a bike through Cycle2Work (thanks taxman!) and am going to struggle to justify having two bikes.

Let me know if you have any questions or want any more photos and I’ll be happy to oblige.

Local pickup near Chalfont St Giles, north-west London only.  Cash on collection or Paypal is fine, no returns, test riders or timewasters please.  Sensible offers considered but am in no rush to sell.
