Brand X – Planet X Custom Road Bike – Medium 52cm
I am selling my beloved Brand X road bike, which I have used for commuting in London only for the past year. Having had a very beautiful and expensive carbon framed Trek Madone stolen from outside my office, I bought this aluminium framed bike because of the amazing reviews (4.7 out of 5 or more everywhere) but also because it is black and the branding is very inconspicuous. I am only selling because I have moved house within 15 minutes of my office and therefore no longer need it.
It is lovely to ride and in good condition. There a few minor chips and scuffs here and there which hopefully the photos show, but nothing major.
If you are wondering why anyone on earth would have bright pink bar tape, it is only because I regularly kept it undercover at Paddington Station where there are about 5,000 bikes and it is literally impossible to remember where you put your bike. You can spot bright pink from about 300m away! But if you don’t like it, I have a spare new set of grey bar tapes that I will throw in for free.
The pedals come with added top clips, but these are removable if you wish. The toe clips have a leather front (and where very expensive!), so they don’t scuff your work shoes. If you cycle in the city, you really don’t want to wear cleats – with traffic lights every few hundred meters you will go crazy. Toe clips are 80% as efficient and much safer and more practical.
The bike is medium sized. I am 5ft 9 and it fits me perfectly. I guess it would suit 5ft 7 to 5ft 11 but not much higher.
I have given the bike a very thorough clean and lubricated all parts. Everything is working well.
