Rare Pipedream Sirius 18″ SingleSpeed Mountain Bike – unique award winner. Condition is Used but well looked after. Collection in person only.

This is a very rare bike. It was Pipedream’s prototype bike that was tested by Bike Magic and the late great Steve Worland earning it Gold for WhatMountainBike magazine reviews and starting Pipedream on their journey of manufacturing some very special bicycles.

This bicycle remains with it’s original paint scheme (by Argos cycles) of white and green. The green is similar to what Pipedream has used on it’s other bikes but is NOT the same. They are unique colours as is the scheme and I was informed by Pipedream they would never use this scheme again.

The slim steel chromoly frame was waxoyled when new and does show signs of use but its straight and true. All the decals are original as is the unique titanium headbadge.

This bike was raced at National XC events including 24 hour enduros such as Sleepless in the Saddle and Mountain Mayhem. It even raced in the UK singlespeed championships and World Champs when it was held in Scotland. This bike is very much a retro collectable and was only used in the mid to late 2000’s. Alas it is taking up much need garage space.

I purchased the frame in 2006 and decided to join the singlespeed craze but wanted to keep it looking similar to how it was built for the magazine tests.

It has:

Rock Shox Reba Race SL 100m front forks with Motion Control (last serviced in 2012 by TF Tuned, bike has not been used since then)

Hayes HFX9 hydraulic disk brakes with carbon leavers. The front fluid chamber is corroding but a good fettler could get these working again.

Middleburn RS8 XC Uno Crankset comprising 175mm crank arms (silver) square tapered with self extracting bolts and a Middleburn Uno XC ring spider 32T crank

Rear sprocket is a 16T – giving the perfect 32:16 ratio, other sizes will be thrown in.

DMR seat clamp – black

Mavic XC717 black disc rims laced with black spokes to Shimano XT hubs (both wheels run sweetly but front will need some truing but at present this adds to its shonkyness but is not a game changer).

WTB Speed V Progel saddle (very comfortable)

USE Carbon riser bars

USE Carbon seat post

Chris King black headset

Race Face Prodigy stem

Ergon GP1 handlebar grips (exceptionally comfortable)

Continental Race King 2.0 folding (lightweight) tyres with pleanty of tread and provide good all round grip – have had some use

Elite bottle cage

Powerplay singlespeed chain tensioner

SRAM PC1 chain

I will also throw in a very rare but used (still with lots of life left in them) set of Continental 26×1.4 mud tyres which are absolutely amazin in the thickest of mud/clay conditions.

I have all the original documentation from Pipedream including a few key receipts and some prints to support this bikes provenance.

Sad to see this go as it was my pride and joy.
